Lost at Sea Mermaid Mirror

How lucky was I to find a vintage mirror with such a great shape! It called out to me like a siren’s song from the dusty recesses of a thrift shop. Cracked and damaged frame, the glass was perfect. I had to have it. It also told me what it wanted to be…totally gothic day of the dead skeleton mermaids. The skull of a lost soul at the bottom of the sea and a copper flaming heart held aloft by those sexy bones. The transformation is complete.

What a great piece. Did you take the mirror out in Photoshop? I think we have a lot in common, combing the thrift shops and looking for treasures!

I did remove some of the reflection in Photoshop. The piece will be on display at Santa Monica city hall for the month of March if you want to see it in person. Also, you are always welcome to come by the studio 🙂

It’s yours, but shipping would be prohibitively expensive.
