Vegan Deer Skulls
The Vegan Deer Skulls start off as recycled seltzer bottles. Since it is darn near impossible to get the full 15 cent deposit on returnable bottles in LA, I decided to put a few of them to better use. There’s quite a bit of sculpting in papier-mâché and wire in the antlers, plus the usual sanding and painting that goes into the process, but there are no real live dead animal products. The Vegan Deer Skull with White Rose, a homage to Georgia O’Keeffe sold recently at the Folk Tree in Pasadena. Still available is the Vegan Deer Skull in Blue in Gold, pictured to the left.
