Overkill
Title: Overkill

The challenge was to crush a peanut and then paint it realistically in sepia tones. I crushed the peanut using my grandmother’s m’duh’ah (aka, wooden pestle). It’s probably 75 years old and severely cracked. I still use this handy tool to crush garlic with salt or to break up nuts. Nothing works better, but it is the definition of overkill in this case. I decided to paint the scene of the crime, not just the crushed peanut.
